Tayler Munson, ticketed to play for his hometown college team UAF next season, sparked the league-leading Fairbanks Ice Dogs to a 4-2 NAHL road win at Coulee Region tonight.
Munson racked his second straight three-point game -- and second straight two-goal, one-assist performance. In that span, he has gone 4-2--6 and +7 (he was +4 tonight) on just six shots on goal.
Munson ranks fifth on the circuit in points, tied for eighth in goals, and second in plus-minus with his 21-29--50 and +33 totals in 50 games. He leads the Ice Dogs in goals and points. And his totals are much more impressive when you consider that he has just four power-play points.
The four players above him in the scoring race all have a minimum of 14 power-play points. And league-leading scorer Alec Butcher of the Kenai River Brown Bears, who owns 22-34--56 totals in 50 games, has a league high-tying 22 power-play points.
