A man walked into a Fairview liquor store with what appeared to be stab wounds Thursday night, police said.

At 9:01 p.m., someone at the Spirits of Alaska store at 1139 Gambell St. told police dispatchers that a man who appeared to have been stabbed had stepped into the store.

Police and paramedics responded and found a man with lacerations to his arm and head, Anchorage police spokeswoman Jennifer Castro said in an email.

She said the victim was "not very cooperative" with police but described his assailant as a man wearing a tan coat and tan hat. Police proceeded to search the area and didn't find anyone meeting the description, Castro said.

The victim, whom police did not name, was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
