Lone senior Kylie Burns and freshman Kiki Robertson earned second-team Great Northwest Athletic Conference honors for the UAA women's basketball team Tuesday.
A 5-foot-9 forward, Burns is UAA's leading rebounder (6.8 per game) and second-leading scorer (12.2 points per game). The Kansas City, Kan., player is among the conference's top 10 in rebounds, steals and 3-point shooting. Her 110 career 3-pointers and .795 free throw percentage ranks her eighth on UAA's all-time in each category.
Robertson, a 5-foot-7 point guard, leads the GNAC with 3.3 steals per game and is second with 5.1 assists per game. She has a top-20 national ranking in both categories.
The Honolulu native set UAA's freshman assist record with 132 and is nine steals shy of breaking the school record in that category. She averages 10.8 points and 4.2 rebounds a game and is the only underclassman to earn first-team or second-team GNAC honors this season.
Montana State Billings earned four top awards. Senior guard Bobbi Knudsen was named Player of the Year, junior forward Janiel Olson was voted Defensive Player of the Year, Yellowjackets coach Kevin Woodin earned Coach of the Year honors and senior Chelsea Banis was the conference's Newcomer of the Year.
Freshman of the Year honors went to UAF's Jordan Wilson.
