Adams sisters help set new UAF swim records at NCAA championships

Former Service High swimmer Victoria Adams had a hand in setting two UAF records at the NCAA Division II championships Wednesday in Geneva, Ohio.

The UAF freshman swam a leg of the Nanooks' 200 medley relay, which tied for third place with a time of 1 minute, 42.22 seconds -- a school record. Adams' sister, Margot, was part of the relay along with Nga Nguyen and Bente Heller, both of Germany.

Victoria Adams set an individual UAF record in the 200 IM in 2:03.86, good enough for 11th place. Victoria broke the previous mark of 2:05.52 set by her sister earlier this season.

The championships continue Thursday through Saturday.
