Engineering firm opens Fairbanks office

Michael Baker Jr., Inc. in Anchorage, an engineering unit of Michael Baker International, LLC, announces the opening of its Fairbanks, Alaska office on the 2nd floor of the Fairbanks Pipeline Training Center, Central Office Facility, 3605 Cartwright Court.

The Fairbanks office will support state and local engineering projects including transportation, oil and gas development, and the Alaska in-state gas pipeline project. Baker has an Alaska based staff of 60 with three registered engineers in Fairbanks.

Baker has been in Alaska since 1942. Its principal office has been in Anchorage since 1995. The Anchorage office recently relocated to the 9th floor of the ASRC building at 3900 C Street.

In Alaska, Baker focuses on cold regions engineering—pipeline, civil infrastructure and transportation, hydrology/water resources, and geotechnical engineering — and specialty services, including environmental regulatory compliance and permitting, public involvement, GIS and LiDAR mapping, designers, and documentation experts.
