NAHL report: Kenai River running out of games, and time

Doyle Woody,Adn Staff

The NAHL's Kenai River Brown Bears fell 3-1 tonight at Wichita Falls, which hampered their bid to achieve a playoff spot.

The Brown Bears (26-22-7) sit fifth in the Midwest Division -- only the top four teams in each division qualify for the Robertson Cup playoffs. Kenai River owns 59 points in 55 games, which leaves it three points behind both Coulee Region (62 points in 54 games) and Wenatchee (62 points in 56 games). Kenai River has just five games left.

Kenai River's lone goal tonight came from Alec Butcher, who leads the league in scoring by five points with 24-37--61 totals in 55 games. His 24 goals are nearly double any other teammate.
