Seward Highway reopened after multi-vehicle crash

A crash involving two SUVs at milepost 91 of the Seward Highway closed the highway in both directions for about an hour on Saturday, troopers said.

The incident was reported at 1:16 p.m. by an Alaska State Trooper who was on scene, said Beth Ipsen, troopers spokeswoman. Two SUVs collided, and three people were taken to Providence Hospital. Their injuries were not life-threatening, she said.

Both lanes were re-opened to traffic by 2:13 p.m., Ipsen said.
