Tipped semi snarling Seward Highway traffic along Turnagain Arm

The Seward Highway will be closed intermittently Sunday evening a few miles south of McHugh Creek Day Use Area along Turnagain Arm as a tow truck works to remove an overturned semi, the Alaska State Troopers said.

The semi tipped over Sunday afternoon near Mile 109 and went off the highway, trooper spokeswoman Beth Ipsen said. No one was injured in the accident.

Soldotna dispatchers fielded 911 calls reporting a crash between "a truck pulling a small trailer and a semi truck pulling double trailers," Ipsen said.

The accident didn't block the road but slowed traffic, she said.

"The highway at Mile 109 will be closed intermittently for the next four hours while the tow truck works at removing the semi-truck and trailers," Ipsen said.
