A story on Page B-1 of Sunday's Alaska section about a Haines heli-ski guide buried in an avalanche contained errors. The story incorrectly identified the mountain where the incident occurred. It's known to heli-skiers as Tele 2.5, not Tele 5, according to state troopers. Troopers reported initially that the guide, Aaron Karitis, was buried under snow for 30 minutes. Troopers later revised that to 20 minutes. The story also incorrectly said he was flown by troopers to the clinic in Haines. Karitis was actually flown back to Haines with his clients and then transported by ambulance to the clinic, troopers said.
The caption with a photo of Venezuelan protesters, on page A-5 Monday, contained an error. The protesters were battling Bolivarian National Police, not Bolivian National Police.
