Letter: Reader volunteers for state board

Gov. Sean Parnell apparently has difficulty finding an Alaskan to serve on the State Assessment Review Board. I would be happy to volunteer.

The trans-Alaska pipeline cost $8 billion to build. Adjusted for inflation, if the trans-Alaska pipeline were built today it would cost $30.88 billion to build. So the remaining calculations to assess the value of the pipeline would be depreciation, and a proportionate value for the amount of oil that flows through the pipeline today, adjusted for increased future production.
