Excellent news for hockey fans: UAA's WCHA Final Five game vs. Ferris State on Friday will be broadcast live on GCI Channel 1.
Here are the details, straight from UAA:
ANCHORAGE – Alaska Anchorage corporate sponsor GCI announced Thursday that the second semifinal game of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association Final Five pinning the Seawolves against nationally No. 4-ranked Ferris State will air live on Ch. 1 at 3:07 p.m. ADT.
Following a schedule conflict with Fox Sports Central on Ch. 302, GCI and Fox Sports worked jointly so that GCI could acquire the feed and show it live, state wide, on Ch. 1.
“We are so appreciative of all that GCI and Fox Sports did to make this happen,” said UAA Athletic Director Keith Hackett. “We couldn’t be more pleased that our fans will get to see the Seawolves play live on GCI Ch. 1.”
The first semifinal game – between Minnesota State and Bowling Green – and the Broadmoor Championship game will both be carried live on GCI Ch. 302 (Fox Sports Central). The first semifinal game will air at 10 a.m. ADT, March 21, while the championships game is scheduled for March 22 at 3:07 p.m. ADT.
