Letter: Why stop at the universities? Let’s arm anything with a pulse

While swimming recently at our Wasilla public pool I was struck by the fact that is was packed and no one was carrying a firearm. Immediately I panicked, remembering what I learned on Fox News, that criminal gunmen are drawn to just such places where people are defenseless. I recited my NRA mantra, “the only thing stopping a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun,” but it failed to comfort me.

Sen. Coghill needs to leave no stone unturned in his quest to arm every breathing man, woman and student. Why stop at the university classrooms and the legislative assemblies? This is important legislative work, right up there with combating non-existent voter fraud, banning Sharia law and maligning the Girl Scouts. It is hard to believe our legislature can get all this important work done in only 90 days! I wish I could run my business that efficiently.
