The AHL's St. John's IceCaps today announced they have signed UAF senior captain and left winger Colton Beck to an amateur tryout agreement.

Beck, 23, of Langley, B.C., earned 14-25--39 totals in 37 games this season. He teamed with Nanooks leading scorer Cody Kuynk, a center, and freshman winger Marcus Basara to form a lethal line.

Beck late in the season worked his way into the Century Club -- in 146 career games, he notched 42-59--101 totals.

As for St. John's, there's some Alaska connections: The IceCaps' head coach is former Alaska Aces captain and head coach Keith McCambridge, and one of the club's forwards is former UAA winger Josh Lunden.
