Ortio back to AHL, but we probably shouldn't expect to see Roy

Doyle Woody,Adn Staff

Former Alaska Aces goaltender Joni Ortio got the hook for NHL Calgary tonight and was then reassigned to AHL Abbotsford because he had been summoned to the NHL on an emergency basis when Karri Ramo was injured (Ramo's cool now, apparently, on the injury front), but The Blog doesn't expect that transfer to change the status of erstwhile Aces goalie Olivier Roy, who remains with Abbotsford.

That's because Roy is under contract to Calgary and the Heat's other goalie, Aaron Dell (erstwhile Utah Grizzlies tender) is not. We'd expect Dell to be sent back to Utah and Roy to stick with Abbotsford.

Caveat: The Blog is human. He's been wrong before. We know -- shocking, eh?
