The details of Bailey's deal

Doyle Woody,Adn Staff

The NHL's Anaheim Ducks are expected to officially announce today they have signed free agent UAA center Matt Bailey, who will join their AHL affiliate in Norfolk.

Here are the details of his contract according to capgeek.com: It's a two-year deal that begins next season and is worth a maximum of $1.385 million -- an average salary of $600,000 per season at the NHL level and a $185,000 signing bonus. At the AHL level beginning next season, he would make $70,000 in each year of the deal.

Bailey is currently on a ATO (amateur tryout agreement) at Norfolk.

Because of his age -- Bailey turns 23 in about a week -- the NHL's Collective Bargaining Agreement says he can only sign for two years on his entry-level contract.

Bailey led the Seawolves in goals and points this season with 20-18--38 totals, all of which were career highs. He also led them in plus-minus (+15) and shots on goal, among other things
