Ontario leapfrogs Aces and is ECHL's overall leader

Doyle Woody,Adn Staff

The Ontario Reign are your new ECHL leaders -- again.

Seems like the Alaska Aces have been trading first place overall for weeks now. Anyhow, the Reign used Maxim Kitsyn's overtime strike for a 3-2 road win against the Stockton Thunder tonight, and that raised Ontario's winning percentage to .694. The Aces sit at .691 and don't play again for a week -- next Wednesday they open a three-game series at Colorado to wrap the regular season.

The team with the league's best winning percentage earns the Brabham Cup as regular season champion and home-ice advantage throughout the playoffs.

Here are the top teams at the moment:

Ontario Reign, .694 with four games left.

Alaska Aces, .691 with three games left.

Reading Royals, .664 with five games left.

Kalamazoo Wings, .649 with five games left.
