Anchorage Mayor Dan Sullivan has appointed a new manager of the city's utility company.
James A. Trent, who most recently worked as a consultant to a Colorado industrial automation company, will lead Municipal Light and Power, taking the place of former general manager Jim Posey, who retired in December.
In a news release Wednesday, Sullivan said that Trent had 30 years of experience in power system planning, and in design and operations of utilities.
Trent's first day is April 7. Sullivan's chief of staff, Dan Kendall, has acted as interim manager since Posey retired.
