Our waterways need your help. As the sunlight increases and the snow recedes, the inevitable chore of springtime has arrived for dog owners: Scoop the Poop Day is set for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 26.
The Scoop the Poop Anchorage committee is concentrating efforts on two of the most-used off-leash dog parks in town -- University Lake and Connor's Bog. There will be volunteers on hand with shovels and bags to hand out to all who can lend a hand.
Stop by one of those spots of you can. If not, clean up there or at your favorite dog-walking location as soon as the snow disappears.
