UAA sophomore Stefany Bryan scored a 37.3 points to finish 16th in the all-around competition Saturday at the NCAA Division I West Regional Championships in Seattle.
Bryan was just the 13th UAA gymnast in history to qualify for the regional meet. Competing in her hometown, Bryan scored 9.675 on uneven bars, 9.45 on vault, 9.4 in floor exercise and 8.775 on balance beam.
Fourth-ranked Alabama finished first in team standings with 197.55 points while Nebraska’s Emily Wong won the all-around title with a 39.625 points.
“This was a high-caliber meet, so even though Stefany didn’t produce her best scores today, it was still an invaluable experience for her,” UAA head coach Paul Stoklos said in a press release. “She stepped into a leadership role this year and should be part of a strong core for us with everyone returning next year.”
All 14 Seawolves are set to return, including 11 letterwinners, next season.
