Letter: State's fiscal collapse hastened

Library bonds failed, three cheers. The voters will make intelligent choices if they have a chance to obtain the facts.

Hopefully the days of funding wishes as if they were needs are over. The Gov. Parnell-and Republican-controlled Legislature are deficit financing the state by several billion dollars a year, and as of this time there is no end in sight to spending our savings.

The repeal of ACES only serves to hasten the fiscal collapse of the state of Alaska. The current level of state spending is to lull the public into thinking everything is OK when it is not so as to curtail the votes for the repeal of ACES.

Expect the state spending and revenue sharing to be severely curtailed after the next general election but not enough to bring state spending into balance.
