NAHL report: Butcher, Quinn spark Kenai River

Just rolled back into the office here at home after a couple days off to notice Alec Butcher of Anchorage and Zach Quinn did big things for the NAHL's Kenai River Brown Bears on Saturday night.

Butcher, the circuit's leading scorer in the regular season, bagged a hat trick, finishing it at 11:15 of OT to give Kenai River a 3-2 road win against the regular-season champion Fairbanks Ice Dogs and tie that best-of-5 series at 1-1 entering Game 3 Tuesday in Soldotna.

Quinn stopped 43 shots, so he gave his club every chance.

Now, the series gets very interesting. A Kenai River win Tuesday would put Fairbanks on the ropes for Game 4 Wednesday in Soldotna. A Fairbanks win Tuesday would guarantee the Ice Dogs that, at worst, they'd be back home for Game 5 on Saturday
