The NHL's Central Scouting today unveiled its final rankings for the 2014 draft and goaltender Eric Schierhorn of Anchorage was the only Alaskan that The Blog saw listed.
Schierhorn, 18, was ranked 30th out of 31 North American goalies listed. Given that European skaters and goalies are on separate lists from North American skaters and goalies, that makes him a long-shot to be drafted this summer.
Still, nice for him to be noticed.
Schierhorn, who Central Scouting pegs as 5-11.5 and 184 pounds, plays for the USHL's Muskegon Lumberjacks. This season, he went 20-17-1 with a 3.21 goals-against average, .905 save percentage and one shutout. The Lumberjacks finished one point out of a playoff spot.
