Friday’s senior all-star basketball games featured a pair of high-scoring affairs at Anchorage Christian. A total of 197 points was scored in the boys game while the girls racked up a combined 170 at the Alaska Association of Basketball Coaches All-Star games.
All 24 boys who played recorded points as the Gold team downed the Blue team 102-95. Colony’s Damien Fulp and Immanuel Lopez of ACS scored 17 points apiece for the winners, which got 13-point efforts from Service’s Reece Robinson and Ryan Lee of Thunder Mountain.
West Valley’s Travon Brackett drained five 3-pointers and scored 17 points to lead the Blue team, which had five players in double figures. Service’s Ihro Raguindin added 14 points, Bethel’s Theodore Naneng scored 12 and Monroe’s Scooter Bynum and Barrow’s Lawrence Kaleak chipped in 10 apiece.
Dickerson leads girls
Anchorage Christian's Dallas Dickerson led all scorers with 24 points in the girls senior all-star basketball game Friday at ACS, although her team lost.
The Blue team received scoring from all 12 players to earn an 86-84 win over the Gold team.
Kodiak's Hannah Wandersee led the Blue team with a double-double, 12 points, 10 rebounds, while Wasilla's Shayla Johnson pumped in 14 points.
Along with Dickerson, who drained four 3-pointers on six attempts, Kodiak's Jerica Nelson (11 points) and West's CeCe Cockerham (10) also reached double figures for the Gold team. Nelson dished out a game-high nine assists and four steals. Shaina Burley of Galena also recorded four steals.
The girls play again Saturday at 5 p.m. at Palmer with the boys following at 7.
