Prep soccer: Results of weekend matches


West 2, Chugiak 0

Kayle Blackmore and Annie Rush scored goals to lift West past Chugiak 2-0 in Cook Inlet Conference girls soccer action Saturday at The Dome. 

Eagle River 2, Juneau 2

Freshmen Jessie Scott and Mallory Garbe netted goals for Eagle River, which played to a 2-2 draw with Juneau on Friday at Thunder Mountain. 


South 6, East 0

Taylor Zietlow and Wesley Chien recorded two goals and two assists apiece to power South past East 6-0 in a Cook Inlet Conference soccer match Saturday at The Dome. 

Blake Hepler and Britton Clifford also scored for the Wolverines, who got two assists from Talon Stanley. David Reyes and Lucas Newman combined for South’s fourth shutout. 

West 3, Chugiak 1

Brenden Doyle scored twice to help West to a 3-1 conference win over Chugiak on Saturday at The Dome.

Jesus Esquivel also scored for the Eagles. 

Service 2, Bartlett 1

Senior captain Muharem Selimi scored the game-winning goal with five minutes left to lift Service past Bartlett 2-1 on Saturday at The Dome.  

Bartlett’s Lorenzo Froehle broke a scoreless tie six minutes into the second half. Service junior Johnny Yoon evened the score with 15 minutes left in the CIC match. 

Colony 2, Dimond 0 

Austin Richardson and Ben Sande each scored during the final five minutes to lead undefeated Colony to a 2-0 non-conference win over visiting Dimond on Friday. 

Richardson ripped a shot from about 30 yards out during the 75th minute to break a scoreless tie. Sande, who has scored in all of the Knights five games, added the insurance goal during the final moments of the match.
