Drama Saturday night in Fairbanks, where the NAHL regular-season champion Fairbanks Ice Dogs survived a decisive Game 5 against the visiting Kenai River Brown Bears to earn a 3-2 overtime victory.

Kyle Lee's goal 4:44 into extra time off a Lonnie Clary helper sealed the deal for Fairbanks, and kept Kenai River from both the upset and the first series victory in its existence.

UAA recruit Wyatt Ege, a defenseman who scored three goals in the regular season, scored for Fairbanks in regulation, as did Hans Gorowsky. Kevin Aldridge made 18 saves.

The Brown Bears got two goals from Frankie Spellman and 43 saves from Zach Quinn.
