The Alaska Aces apparently are going to get at least one huge reinforcement for the Kelly Cup playoffs: AHL transactions reports that NHL Calgary has assigned goaltender Olivier Roy back to the Aces.
That move will give the Aces a heckuva 1-2 punch in net in Gerald Coleman and Roy.
Coleman in 2011 backstopped the Aces to the Kelly Cup. Roy in 2013 backstopped Stockton to the Kelly Cup Finals, where they fell to the Reading Royals.
Roy for the Aces this season went 13-7-0 with a 2.10 goals-against average, .922 save percentage and four shutouts. Coleman went 14-6-5 with a 2.39, .910 and two shutouts.
