The UAA Department of Music will present a free concert titled "Bach to Basics," 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 18, in the Bartlett High School auditorium. The program will feature the University Wind Ensemble under the direction of Mark Wolbers.

Baroque beauties

UAA music professor and cellist John Lutterman will be joined by several extraordinary local musicians in a program that includes music for baroque cello, flute, harpsichord and viola da gamba by Bach, Telemann and Rameau. The performance takes place at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, in the UAA Fine Arts Building Recital Hall.

Move your feet

The UAA Department of Theatre and Dance invites everyone who's ever wanted to bust a move to belly up to their Dance Buffet, starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 19, in the UAA Dance Studio, room 162 of the Professional Studies Building. Staff will offer a different dance class every hour until 5 p.m. with a variety of styles, open to all levels of experience. The price is $2 a class; pay at the door.

Words and landscapes

Poet John Morgan will present his new collection "River of Light: A Conversation with Kabir" with art by painter Kesler Woodward at 5 p.m. on Monday, April 21, at the UAA Campus Bookstore. The book is based on a trip down the Copper River. There is free parking for bookstore events in the South Lot, the West Campus Central Lot (behind Rasmuson Hall), the Sports Lot and the Sports NW Lot.

Easter parade

The Alaska Fiber Festival will present a show of wearable art fashion at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, in the Kincaid Park bunker. Artists exhibiting will include Tracy Anna Bader, K.C. Lowe and Mary Hertert. The show will sample work by creative minds from across Alaska, including the stunning all-wood creations of international award-winning woodworker David Walker of Southeast.
