The Fairbanks Ice Dogs gained the upper hand in the NAHL's Midwest Division finals for the first time with tonight's 2-0 home-ice win over Wenatchee Wild.
Fairbanks, the circuit's top team in the regular season, owns a 2-1 lead in the best-of-5 series entering Game 4 Friday night in Wenatchee, Wash. If the Wild win that one, the decisive Game 5 is Saturday night.
Colton Wolter scored short-handed in the second period tonight and Yannick Vedel struck at even strength in the third period, all of which supported Kevin Aldridge's 25-save bagel.
The winner of the series will be one of four teams vying for the Robertson Cup.
