Softball roundup: Wednesday's scores

Chugiak 4, Dimond 3

Chugiak edged Dimond 4-3 in a five-inning Cook Inlet Conference softball game Wednesday at Albrecht Fields. Juliette Montgomery pitched a complete game, giving up five hits and striking out six for the Mustangs. 

Alise Arnold went 2 for 2 including a two-run home run for Chugiak, which got a double from Kate Arthen. 


East 12, South 1

Taria Page went 3 for 3 and drove in three runs to help East cruise past conference foe South 12-1 on Wednesday at Albrecht. Morgan Hill was 2 for 3 with two RBIs for the T-birds. 

East’s Sydney Smith pitched a one-hitter and fanned six through five innings. Tristin Tolan had South’s lone a hit, a triple that she scored on after an overthrow. 


Service 8, Bartlett 4

Sarah Benfield allowed just three hits, struck out six and knocked a triple for Service in an 8-4 conference win over Bartlett on Wednesday at Albrecht. 

Kamryn Frisk had a pair of hits including a triple for the Cougars. 


West 9, Eagle River 4

Lesley Bingham threw a one-hitter and struck out five to lead West past Eagle River 9-4 in CIC action Wednesday at Albrecht. 

Lauren Syrup drove in two runs for the Eagles, who got a pair of hits from Devonee Troutman and Eva Damrill. 

Eagle River’s Teagan Mergen broke up Bingham’s no-hitter.
