2 new chain stores moving into Anchorage 5th Avenue mall

Two new stores will be moving into the Anchorage 5th Avenue mall in the coming months, accompanied by extended Saturday hours, according to a Thursday announcement.

Buckle Inc., a men's and women's clothing store selling a mix of denim, accessories and footwear from more than 200 brands, will open on the second floor of the five-story mall in the spring. Nearby, LUSH Handmade Cosmetics will welcome consumers this summer, said a statement from Kari Skinner, the mall's director of marketing.

Skinner said specific opening dates remain cloudy, but she expects to make a second announcement as soon as details become available.

The downtown mall will also stay open an hour later on Saturdays starting May 3. The 9 p.m. closing time will better align the mall's hours with those of neighboring stores and restaurants, according to Skinner.

Buckle, based in Nebraska, and LUSH, based in the United Kingdom, will join Anchorage 5th Avenue's more than 110 stores.

Both stores are hiring. Interested applicants should check out lushusa.com/Careers-at-LUSH/careers-lush,en_US,pg.html and corporate.buckle.com/careers.
