The Alaska Aces, fresh off a first-round sweep of the Las Vegas Wranglers, do not yet know their opponent for the ECHL's Western Conference semifinals, but they do know when they will be entertaining for home games.
The Aces, who own home-ice advantage throughout the Kelly Cup playoffs, will open the next round Thursday night at Sullivan Arena against either the Idaho Steelheads or Colorado Eagles. Idaho leads 3-2 in that best-of-7 series heading into Game 6 Monday night in Boise.
No matter who the Aces play, it will be a very compacted best-of-7 series that, should it go the distance, would do so in a mere 11 days. Considering a seven-game series would require two travel days, that would mean teams would have just two days that do not include a game or travel.
Here's the set-up as we know it at this point, courtesy of the Aces:
Game 1 -- Thursday, May 1, Sullivan Arena, 7:15 p.m.
Game 2 -- Friday, May 2, Sullivan Arena, 7:15 p.m.
Game 3 -- To be announced.
Game 4 -- To be announced.
Game 5 -- To be announced*
Game 6 -- Saturday, May 10, Sullivan Arena, 7:15 p.m.*
Game 7 -- Sunday, May 11, Sullivan Arena, 7:15 p.m.*
* If necessary
