Letter: Erin’s Law got no respect in Juneau

Choose Respect was supposed to be Sean Parnell’s “signature” campaign against violence to women and children, yet Erin’s Law was ignored to the point of being obvious. Why? The bill was a model bill, not much work to do on it. If they can pass model ALEC bills, why not one that would equip Alaska’s children with tools to fight against abuse? Was it something to do with religion? Was it something to do with the Republicans’ obsession with our private lives?

I would love to hear the reason Erin’s Law was glossed right over.
