TUESDAY UPDATE:
A 20-year-old man killed in a snowmachine crash Sunday night in Shishmaref was speeding over a series of snow berms before he crashed into a ditch, according to Alaska State Troopers.
"He was going very fast, he didn't have good control," said Megan Peters, troopers spokeswoman.
Jay Weyiouanna was thrown from his snowmachine in a spot between the village and the Shishmaref Airport's runway. Two teenagers witnessed the crash. It was still daylight, Peters said. One stayed with Weyiouanna while the other went to get help.
Weyiouanna was taken to a local clinic, where he was pronounced dead. A village public safety officer notified troopers of a fatal crash shortly before 10 p.m., Peters said. The State Medical Examiner requested the man's body be sent to Anchorage. Next of kin has been notified.

A 20-year-old man was killed in a snowmachine crash Sunday night in the Inupiat village of Shishmaref in Northwest Alaska, according to Alaska State Troopers.
Jay Weyiouanna was witnessed driving his snowmachine into a ditch and crashing, troopers said in a report posted online Monday.
The State Medical Examiner was notified and requested the man's body be sent to Anchorage, troopers said. Next of kin has been notified.
