Daniel Suver, M.D., named a Diplomat of the American Board of Plastic Surgery

Daniel Suver, MD has recently become a Diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery. This is the only plastic surgery board recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties.

Dr. Suver is only the fourth board certified plastic surgeon practicing in Anchorage to achieve this recognition. To achieve this level of qualification, Dr. Suver completed an accredited plastic surgery residency, and then completed an intensive two-year qualification process including written knowledge examinations and a two day oral examination. This oral exam is conducted by nationally recognized leaders in plastic surgery, and includes an intensive review of his personal patient care spanning a nine month audit period.

Dr. Suver moved to Anchorage and joined Plastic Surgeons of Alaska in the summer of 2012 after completing extensive training at the University of Washington hospital system in Seattle. He completed eight years of training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and in General Surgery. The University of Washington Medical system includes Seattle Childrens and Harborview Medical Center, the Level 1 Trauma center for Washington and Alaska. Dr. Suver is also a board certified General Surgeon, making him the only doubly board certified plastic surgeon practicing in the state.

Dr. Suver brings extensive experience in advanced breast cancer reconstruction, as well as the latest techniques in cosmetic surgery. He is an active volunteer with the Alaska Cleft Lip and Palate clinic, and enjoys the wide range of opportunities practicing in Alaska provides him.
