UAA men sign shooting guard from Arizona JC

A 6-foot guard who can shoot and handle the ball will join the UAA men's basketball team next season.

The Seawolves on Thursday announced that Dom Hunter, who played two seasons of junior college basketball at Eastern Arizona College, has signed a letter of intent.

As a sophomore, Hunter averaged 18 points on 42 percent shooting to earn second team All-Region I honors. In high school, he was a first-team All-Puget Sound player for Tacoma's Decatur High.

"Dom's ability to shoot, plus his toughness, fit perfectly into our system," UAA coach Rusty Osborne said in a press release. "He had outstanding shooting percentages that were even better before suffering a foot injury that affected him the final two weeks. His strength and ball-handling allow him to play both backcourt positions, which will help to offset the loss of Kyle Fossman and Colton Lauwers to graduation."

Hunter is the third player to sign letters of intent to play for UAA, joining incoming freshmen Damien Fulp of Colony and Brian Pearson of Elko, Nevada.
