Softball roundup: Friday's scores

Fueled by an eight runs in the fourth inning, West rallied from a five-run deficit to defeat Dimond 9-6 in Cook Inlet Conference softball action Friday at Albrecht Fields.

Devonee Troutman was the hero for West -- she smacked a two-out, three-run home run to break a 6-6 tie. The Eagles trailed 6-1 after three innings before their rally in the fourth, where West sent 10 batters to the plate.

Lauren Syrup struck out five and surrendered four hits to earn the win.

East 10, Service 0

Syndey Smith threw a one-hitter to help East blank Service 10-0 on Friday.

Smith, who fanned seven, helped her own cause with two hits and two RBIs. Sierra Rosenzweig led the T-birds with three hits, including a triple.

Jenessa Davies provided Service's lone hit in the second inning.

South 19, Eagle River 2

A pair of freshmen led South to a lopsided 19-2 victory over Eagle River on Friday at Albrecht.

Danni Desjarlais went 4 for 4 with five RBIs and scored three runs for the Wolverines. She also struck out four and gave up seven hits to earn the win.

Fellow freshman Sydney Bulot had three hits for South, which got three hits and three RBIs from Mckayla Baggett.
