Aces get Lafranchise back from AHL

Doyle Woody,Adn Staff

The Alaska Aces get a reinforcement with defenseman Kane Lafranchise's return from AHL Abbotsford, where he spent the majority of the season.

Lafranchise will give the Aces yet more depth on the blue line and another defenseman who can play in all situations. Like Drew MacKenzie, who owns four power-play goals in the postseason entering Game 3 of the ECHL Western Conference semifinals tonight at Idaho, Lafranchise is adept on the power play at sneaking from the left point down to the back door.

Lafranchise, the former UAA defenseman, went 3-3--6 and +4 in 14 games for the Aces before he was summoned to the AHL early in the season. In 34 regular-season games for Abbotsford, Alaska's affiliate, he furnished 13 assists and a -1 rating. In four playoff games, he delivered a goal, his first goal in any AHL regular-season or playoff game.
