UAA recruit Wyatt Ege, a defenseman with the Fairbanks Ice Dogs, has been selected to the NAHL's All-Rookie Team in a vote by league coaches.
Ege, 19, of Elk River, Minn. -- hometown of former UAA captain and assistant coach Regg Simon, by the way -- in the regular season earned 3-17--20 and +19 totals in 59 games. In 12 playoff games, he has 4-0--4 and +1 totals.
Ege is scheduled to join the Seawolves in 2015.
Also, Fairbanks forward Viktor Liljegren, a 20-year-old Swede, was named to the All-Rookie Second Team. He owns 3-2--5 and +1 totals in 12 playoff games after going 18-27--45 and +31 in 54 regular-season games.
Ege, Liljegren and the Ice Dogs on Friday entertain the Austin Bruins in Game 1 of the best-of-3 Robertson Cup to determine the league champ.
