Wasilla boy falls from 2nd-floor window, flown to hospital

A 4-year-old boy was medevacked to an Anchorage hospital after he fell out of a second-floor window at a home near Wasilla on Monday morning, Mat-Su Borough emergency officials say.

A 911 caller just before 11 a.m. reported that the boy fell out of a window and his head was swelling but he was conscious and breathing, deputy emergency services director Clint Vardeman said. Borough medics and other responders arrived at the home on Canterbury Drive 16 minutes later.

A LifeMed Alaska helicopter transported the boy to Providence Alaska Medical Center, Vardeman said. Medics aboard the helicopter calling ahead to the hospital during the flight described the boy as unconscious, he said.
