The U.S. Coast Guard rescued two people from a boat that was taking on water near Petersburg in Southeast Alaska, according to a press release from the agency.

The release said Coast Guard watchstanders received a call from a passenger on the Deborah K, a 24-foot pleasure boat. The boat  reportedly had struck a rock in the Wrangell Narrows, about 1 mile southwest of Petersburg.

The Coast Guard directed a nearby vessel, its cutter Anacapa, to the site, and the cutter’s small-boat crew rescued two men, the Coast Guard said.

There were no injuries, and a Juneau-based Coast Guard officer praised the boaters for quickly contacting the agency.
