Police identify pedestrian killed in Tudor Road accident

Anchorage police have identified the pedestrian who was killed after being struck by a vehicle on Tudor Road as 44-year-old Frederick Loon.

The fatal accident happened on May 4 near East Tudor Road and Florina Street. Police reported that Loon was crossing the road in a non-crosswalk area just after 11 p.m. when a 2002 Chrysler 300 traveling eastbound on Tudor struck him. Police and medics responded after witnesses called 911.

Loon was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead just before 11:40. The driver of the Chrysler stayed at the scene of the accident and cooperated with officers during an investigation, which is continuing, police say.
