UAA signs Canadian standout to gymnastics team

UAA's gymnastics team added a new recruit Tuesday when coach Paul Stoklos announced Madeline Arbuckle signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Seawolves.

The Winnipeg, Manitoba, native is a two-time qualifier for the Canadian National Open Championships, where she placed third in vault last year.

She also took third in vault and helped her club team to a second-place finish at the 2013 Western Canadian championships, and she qualified last fall for the Elite Gym Massilia international meet in France.

"Madeline brings some very impressive skills to our lineup," Stoklos said in a news release. "She has shown an ability to excel at high-level competitions, and we expect her to contribute all-around."

Arbuckle joins fellow incoming freshman Emily Ramberg of Forest Lake, Minnesota, as the second member of UAA's recruiting class.
