Anchorage police seek missing man

Anchorage police are asking for the public's help in locating 20-year-old Brian Semrinec.

Semrinec was last seen leaving the Ramada Inn on Third Avenue in downtown Anchorage when he checked out just after 9 a.m. Monday. Police say Semrinec is active duty military, and he failed to show up for work on Tuesday. This is believed to be unusual behavior for the young man, as he's new to Alaska and unfamiliar with Anchorage.

Semrinec is a white male, 6 feet 1 inch tall and 180 pounds, with military-cut brown hair and brown eyes. He also has a tattoo of a fish on his leg. He was last spotted wearing blue jeans and a white T-shirt. Police say he may be carrying a backpack as well.

Anyone with information about Semrinec's whereabouts is asked to call police at 786-8900.
