Shields is interim chief administrator of the Anchorage Senior Activity Center

The Board of Directors announces the appointment of Mary E. Shields as Interim Chief Administrator of the Anchorage Senior Activity Center (ASAC). Ms. Shields will fulfill this role on a temporary basis and, in addition will assist the Board in recruiting a new long-term Chief Administrator.

Ms. Shields is currently Chair of the Alaska Commission on Aging and is an active member of the ASAC. Prior to her retirement, she was the General Manager for Northwest Technical Services for over 20 years. Mary earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Central Washington University and has been an Anchorage resident for 38 years. She was the first woman President of the Alaska Support Industry Alliance and continues to serve on its Board as an Emeritus member. Mary is also a former President of the Alaska Federation of Business and Professional Women and Lt. Governor for the Alaska/Youth South Division of the Pacific Northwest Kiwanis District.

The Board appreciates the support and assistance of the ASAC staff, especially Robin Stouch, during this transition period. We know the staff will continue its excellent work keeping the Center running smoothly in support of our members and the other citizens of Anchorage who rely on ASAC.
