UAF D-man Woods beginning cancer treatment

Hold a good thought today, and for many days, for UAF defenseman Justin Woods, who the school announced today is suffering from bone cancer and is today beginning chemotherapy in Seattle.

Woods, of Fairbanks, just completed his freshman year at the school. The school reported he has Ewing's Sarcoma, a rare bone cancer, and will undergo nine months of treatment. He will miss the 2014-15 season.

Typical hockey player -- Woods vows to beat cancer and come back better than ever.

And, remember, hold a good thought for him.
