Wasilla car chase ends with suspect Tased, arrested

A motorist is facing several charges after leading police on a car chase that began with a traffic stop Thursday afternoon and was ended by a Taser, according to Alaska State Trooper reports.

Troopers said the chase started with the traffic stop shortly before 4 p.m. at the intersection of Wasilla-Fishhook Road and Seldon Road. During the stop, the driver, whom troopers later identified as Jeremy Joel Fish, produced false identification, troopers said.

He then fled from troopers, leading them on a 20-minute pursuit that culminated in a foot chase on Boulder Drive and Fish being subdued by a Taser. Troopers said Fish nearly struck both a trooper and a police vehicle during the chase and endangered a passenger who was in the car with him.

Fish was charged with two counts of third-degree assault, a count of fourth-degree assault, first-degree eluding, reckless driving, giving false information and violating probation, and was taken to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility without bail.
