Warm-ups just began for Game 2 of the ECHL's Kelly Cup, and there's big news on the Alaska Aces' end of the ice.
All-ECHL sniper Peter Sivak is back after missing 11 games with an upper-body injury and point-per-game winger Brendan Connolly is back after missing two games with an upper-body injury.
Sivak in five playoff games before he got hurt delivered 5-3--8 totals. He was the circuit's second-leading scorer in the regular season and tied for second in the league in goals with 31-52--83 totals in 67 games. Connolly owns 3-10--13 totals in 14 playoff games.
Connolly looks like he will man his usual left wing slot on Nick Mazzolini's top line. Appears Sivak, a right wing, will play on Jordan Morrison's second line, in place of Alex Belzile (two assists in Alaska's 5-3 Game 1 win over Cincinnati), who is out with a lower-body injury.
This also means Turner Elson will move off the Mazzolini line and back down to Tyler Mosienko's third line.
All in all, great news for the Aces.
The other scratch for the Aces from the Game 1 lineup is winger Andy Taranto, who is a healthy scratch.
