Alaska connections and their plans for next season

Doyle Woody,Adn Staff

Several Alaska-connected players are finalizing plans for next season, so let's get to it.

Former Alaska Aces captain Steve Ward, who played this past season for the Brampton Beast of the Central Hockey League (3-9--12 totals in 32 games) is headed across the pond to play for the Nottingham Panthers in the Great Britain-based EIHL.

Former UAA winger Kevin Clark, who tore up Germany's top league, the DEL last season with the Krefeld Penguins (30-38--68 totals in 51 games), is staying on that circuit, but moving to the Hamburg Freezers,

Former UAF defenseman and Stanley Cup winner Jordan Hendry, who played last regular season in the DEL before heading to Sweden for the postseason, will remain in Sweden with AIK.

Ben Parker, a rookie defenseman who was with the Aces (2-3--5 totals in 41 games) during most of this season before he was waived and picked up by the Las Vegas Wranglers (zero points in 10 games), is headed to Lyon in the French league,

And former Aces defenseman T.J. Fast, who played last season in the German second division for Eispiraten Crimmitschau (pronounced just like it sounds -- he had 9-25--34 totals in 49 games) is sticking on that circuit but moving to Heilbronner Falken.
