Ran into Alaska Aces coach Rob Murray and assistant Louis Mass walking into U.S. Bank Arena a moment ago -- this was a couple of hours after the ECHL announced Aces rookie defenseman John Ramage was suspended from tonight's game -- and Murray said Kane Lafranchise, who was going to be an unhealthy scratch tonight (lower-body injury) will be in the lineup.
Lafranchise isn't 100 percent (who is this time of season -- geez, it's June 7?!), but his less than 100 percent is better than a lot of guys on their best night at this level.
If you hadn't heard, Ramage was suspended one game for an uncalled elbowing infraction in the second period of the Cincinnati Cyclones' 3-1 win over the Aces in Game 4 here Friday. The Blog didn't see it; neither did the two refs. Murray said it was for a hit on Cincy winger Josh Shalla, who had a goal last night and leads all playoff goal scorers with 11.
Shalla, by the way, is a scratch tonight, which is likely why Ramage received a one-game suspension.
