Legion baseball: Monday's games

Chugiak 7, Service 5

Chugiak Post 33 responded to a four-run rally from Service Post 28 with three runs of their own to earn a 7-5 win Monday in American Legion action.

After Service scored four runs in the top of the fourth inning to tie the game 4-4, Chugiak plated three in the bottom of the inning to go ahead 7-4. Service added another run in the seventh and final inning.

Sam Hanson went 2 for 3 with three RBIs to lead Chugiak, which got a pair of hits and an RBI from Deven Ferriss. Brandon Neal drove in two runs for Chugiak.

Raleigh Pigg and Lucas Lapointe had two hits apiece for Service.

A doubleheader between East and Kenai and Bartlett's game against Wasilla scheduled for Tuesday were postponed due to rain.

Eagle River 9, South 4

Eagle River jumped out to an early 5-0 lead en route to a 9-4 victory over South Post 4 on Monday.

Eagle River scored five runs in the first inning, three of which came on a home run from Mike Rosenberg, who went 3 for 4 with five RBIs. Cameron Fabacher and Nathan Ragina also had three hits apiece for Eagle River.

Christian Fabacher and Lauren Frost, who earned the win, recorded two hits apiece for the Wolves.

Nick Jensen and Alec Valdez had two hits apiece for South.
